Ephemeral shadows

My shadow, or shadow house, project rooted itself in my mind summers ago and finally bloomed in my Material Investigations class at LSU. It was a class where we challenged what a photograph is and how we can push the boundaries of presentation. As I was exploring my eye began to focus on secret moments where nature and human infrastructure intertwined.

For my presentation, I created 3D houses that viewers were invited to walk around, as if walking through the neighborhoods I did in Baton Rouge. Sound played from inside the houses, a recording of my walks, where all you can hear is the tapping of my feet, the shutter click of my camera, nature sounds, and suburban life.

I am just a girl holding a camera while nature is painting itself everywhere.
